You Scruffy Lookin Nerf Herder
At my heart, I’m a geek. That being said, I leave most of the geekery over at CheyenneLabs where I post geeky stuff. I’m a geek of many different levels.
1 – Photo Geek
2 – Computer Geek
3 – Pinball Geek
4 – Cooking Geek
5 – Movie Geek
6 – Vintage Video Game Geek
5 – I’ve got other geekness. I just can’t recollect right now..
I think I’ve made the case that I have some Geek roots.
Wikipedia defines geek as:
A geek is a person who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by technology and imagination. Geek may not always have the same meaning as the term nerd (see nerd for a discussion of the disputed relation between the terms).
So. I totally Geeked out when I found out someone had made it so that you can Play Tie Fighter in Windows XP.
These are the games in which me, and the second oldest bro spent hours trying to beat that stupid STAR DESTROYER (some anger left over). Then in Tie Fighter, we found out the hard way that Empire doesn’t take kindly to having you fire on it’s own ships. Even if it was just by accident. I was waxed more by the Empire, as a Tie Fighter pilot than when I was a Rebel. Anyways, I digress…
We had fun, we had to cheat work both times to win the game (At one point we were moving about the galaxy in our own Star Destroyers, ah the wonders of youth).
I think I need to go dust off some of those disks.. And find a floppy drive.
Thanks for the link! I’m glad so many people have found the article helpful.
Hope to have more good stuff on Flicker as we keep growing.
No problem, thanks for the nostolgia 😉
ohhh…. the memories! 😉 i love those games!
The second oldest speaks 😉
remember how hard it was to destroy all those turrets on that Star Destroyer?
I was so glad we found that hex editor 😉
