Rock on U2.
I should be packing and looking for an apartment.
Something that ya’ll should know about me. I procrastinate when I stress.
I procrastinate big time.
I’ll probably go pack when I get done with this entry.
Yeah right, I’ll probably go to sleep before I get this bad boy done. I get sleepy fast now days. I guess that’s what comes from being 134 years old.
So, where was I?
Oh yes.
U2.
I picked up the date for the concert. She was looking pretty rock, even though I had found out that this was her first concert to ever go to. We then proceeded to go and get some ear plugs in case it got to loud (I am a firm believer in the fact that it isn’t a good concert if you can hear afterwords. I mean, we are only on this earth once, so you might as well use up what you have, while you can). So then we went to stand in line.
We stood in the GA line for a good half hour before I found out there was a fan club line. We got into that line, and shivered for another thirty minutes until we could get in. I was hoping we’d end up inside the ellipse (the stage area) but that was not to be. We then proceeded to stand in line, and making concert buddies with the people around us. They got drunker, and I’d wave them in when they got drinks. It was a pretty good situation all around.
After suffering through Kings of Leon (Bleh, Bleh, Bleh) “No Doubt” Did a much better job opening for U2. We had a couple act like they were going somewhere, then proceed to stop right in front of me and my date. The Concert buddies proceeded to harass them until they left. It was a beautiful site to behold. I am forever in their drunken debt. Then within minutes, the final song played and it was time. In the darkness you could see the band members come out, and then it happened, Bono popped up right near us. Some pretty high energy songs were sung (Sunday Bloody Sunday, Vertigo, Beautiful Day). Bono was his usual entertaining self. If you can say one thing about U2, its that they know how to entertain. At parts he’d pull people out of the crowd (at one point, a little blond haired boy of like 8 or 9.)
After two encores, the band finally called it a rest and went bye, bye. I got a hug from my rocking date (I’m the type of guy who likes hugs). I dropped her off, and went over to Tyson’s to crash.
It was a good night to Rock
I’m so jealous. Best two concerts I’ve ever been to were both U2.
It was cool. I’ve been to THREE NOW!
