His name was bob.
I have been enjoying a nice little phone.
This phone has some history. My little brother had managed to beat down Verizon to get a killer deal for this phone.
I’ve been playing with it the last 15 or so days..
Thinking I need to get the insurance on it.
Well, I forgot.
And tonight, I dropped it in a huge puddle.
That I had created when I went to pick up a friend.
It starts up, but I can’t talk to anyone.
I’m letting it dry, but I’m not hopeful.
I drove to WalMart (Those who know me, know that I am not a fan of wally world) to get some precision screwdrivers. At 3:22 AM. I haven’t slept at all.
I think I’m going to cry, then go to bed.
I’ve learned my lesson (been a lot of those this year).
1) Get insurance
2) Don’t drive over iced over puddles
3) Don’t drop the phone into water
4) Take out the battery right away.
5) Don’t be such a dork.
Right now, I need to get a new cell, or if anyone is feeling generous (or knows someone who works for Verizon or someone willing to get me a swinging deal by getting a new 2 year contract, but they like there phone, or someone who has a phone, but wants to *switch* to verizon) put me in touch.
I had gotten all kinds of swag for this phone ;I
I’m sorry. That hurts my heart. Kind of like my iPod, which is very much on the decline. *sigh*
it all makes sense now. Does insurance cover water damage? I don’t think it does actually.
Yes, most insurance covers any type of damage to phones. That’s why it’s there. Otherwise you’d just go with the manufacturer’s warranty.
ew yuck! I heard it’s good not to get insurance even if this does happen…because the phones they send you on the insurance are the little crappy ones and they make you pay an extra fee anyway.
I’m switching over to Verizon in January…but I was thinking of getting a new phone.
I have an old phone…that I used on a verizon plan…it is so nothing special…but you can have it if ya need it.
metamorphose: It’s sad to see the decline of a piece of electronics, no?
Brian: Yes. There is a reason I wouldn’t return your calls. Besides the fact that you made fun of my pinball obses.. hobby.
Cameron: Next Phone Gets Some Insurance. Right. Away.
Sherpa: Well, if you change your mind, you know who to call. Or if you decide to get a phone that’s not like %95 toy, you know who to call/email/make fun of.
Heather: Tell me more of thsi phone (since your e-mail address looks a wee bit suspicious.)
Ha! My email address is real. It is an old no frills brickish (about the size of a twinkie)…it works but it is so nothing special. E-mail me and I will send you a pic.
awwwww nuts! two things:
1. VERIZON! we’re IN callers!
2. I have an old (circa 2001) LG flip phone that i used up until about 3 weeks ago, when Verizon tempted me into signing a contract (i’d been month-to-month forever) to get for free. it is oh-so-cool. i can’t give you the new cool one, but i can give you the other one. you can even get my phone numbers and call my friends if you want.
or maybe not.
anyway. good luck champ
